Alexia Luscher & Suzanna Turpin, violinists

Suzanna Turpin began violin at age three and holds a Master of Music in violin performance from the University of Oklahoma and a Bachelor of Music in violin performance from Brigham Young University. Suzanna currently performs with the Northwest Symphony Orchestra. She enjoys teaching violin and Music Mind Games in her home studio and music classes at Samena Preschool. Suzanna has performed with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic,  Fort Smith Symphony,  Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and the Orchestra at Temple Square. She has studied violin with many great teachers including Emanuel Borok, Sarah Plum, Felicia Moye, and Vesna and Igor Gruppman. During her graduate studies, Suzanna performed in a piano trio, clarinet quintet, a new music ensemble, and was given an Assistantship in the MacArthur String Quartet. During her undergraduate studies, she toured with the BYU Chamber Orchestra throughout the Eastern United States and Europe. Suzanna currently resides with her husband Paul and three sons in Bellevue, WA.

Alexia Luscher, violin, holds both Master and Bachelor of Music degrees in performance from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.  Her teachers include Robert Gerle, Jack Ashton, Hiroko Primrose, and Deborah Moench.  She studied Suzuki violin pedagogy with Cathryn S. Lee.  Alexia is a Unit 1 Teacher Trainer for Music Mind Games, receiving her training from author Michiko Yurko.  For the last 8.5 years Alexia taught Suzuki violin, group, and MMG for Punahou School in Honolulu, HI.  She coached the Hirano String Quartet, taught co-curricular chamber music classes, and K-1 MMG classes.  As Vice-President of Suzuki Talent Education of Hawai’i, Alexia co-directed annual Suzuki Rocks! Spring Workshop. Before moving to Hawaii, Alexia taught Suzuki violin and MMG for the Levine School of Music in Arlington, VA. Alexia recently relocated to So. MD where she is building her Suzuki violin and MMG studio. She has taught at workshops and Institutes in CA, ID, HI, MA, and Shanghai, China.

Both Suzanna & Alexia will be accompanied by talented Sally Palmer.
