Claire & Crosbys, father-daughter vocalist duo

Seattle singing sensations, and father-daughter duo known as Claire & the Crosbys will perform at the Bellevue Festival of the Nativity again. Daughter Claire and dad Dave Crosby have performed several times on the Ellen Degeneres Show, and have been featured at Disneyworld and in many viral videos on their Youtube channel.

Claire and the Crosby family agreed without hesitation to perform free for this local Christmas venue. “We love the Festival of the Nativity. We go every year. We just love how beautiful it is and how it makes you feel when you walk in there and see everything,” says Dave Crosby.

Claire’s videos have been so popular on their Youtube channel, Dave says, “I thought [the Nativity] would be a really cool place to film our “Silent Night” video, so they were kind enough to let us do that, so it’s just something we’ve made a tradition of every year.” Across Facebook & Youtube, the video has received 3.2 million views.

Ensign Youth Choir with Orchestra

Ensign has had a Children’s Choir began just over a year ago, but has already performed for sporting events singing “The Star-Spangled Banner” on the field as well as performances at Benaroya hall.

Singing testimony building songs as wells as music from movies like The Greatest Showman, Newsies, and more, we are excited for their debut performance at the Bellevue Nativity!

Conductor Sharla Dance graduated from BYU in Music Education, choral conducting emphasis. Her post graduate studies include how the child’s brain learns music, advanced choral conducting, and piano improvisation. For the last 30 years Sharla has conducted youth choirs, ranging in number from 70 to 180 youth, depending on the year. Sharla has a private music studio teaching piano, music literacy, and voice called Dance Sing and Play. She loves conducting choirs and teaching music to children.

Classical Christmas, Voice & Viola with Rachelle Hrncirik & Sheila Bateman

Rachelle Hrncirik began classical training at 16 and has taught voice lessons since 1999. She received her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees in Vocal Performance from Brigham Young University. Rachelle has performed many leading roles in various operas, and sang with Brigham Young University Singers, performing in England, Jordan, Israel, and Carnegie Hall.

While living abroad in Prague, she sang for the President of the Czech Republic and other Czech and U.S. officials at a memorial service for victims of the September 11th terrorist attacks. She has been a guest soloist for various performing groups and is currently a resident soloist for Seattle Ensign Symphony and Chorus

She has directed many choirs including a small international women’s choir in Prague, CZ. Rachelle resides in Issaquah, WA with her husband and four children.

Classical Soprano Stacy Hunt

Stacy Hunt is a classically trained Soprano with a master’s degree in vocal performance from the University of Washington. Most recently she performed with the Lynnwood Stake as Narrator in “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.” She has also performed as Hansel in “Hansel and Gretel,” Serpetta in “La Finta Giardiniera,” 1st Knitter in “A Game of Chance,” Madame Larina in “Eugene Onegin,” and Edith in “Pirates of Penzance.” Locally she’s sung with the Seattle Opera Chorus, the Ensign Chorus, and the Leavenworth Summer Theater where she played the roles of Mother Abbess in “The Sound of Music” and Mrs Pearce in “My Fair Lady.” When she’s not singing, Stacy is busy at home in Everett, Washington keeping up with her 5 year old boy and 3 year old girl.

First Presidency Devotional

The Manning Family, “Lightly Salted” Folk Band

The Manning Family perform songs you may have heard before, but in new ways you won’t forget. Using a variety of ethnic and traditional instruments (including ukulele, tenor guitar, penny whistle, and concertina), this musical family fuses ancient and modern tradition as they explore the beauty of music.

The group consists of 17-year-old Faith, 19-year-old AJ, and their older brothers, Logan, and Eli. They have performed together around the Puget Sound area for the past decade (often with their father, Bill), during which time they have been known as The Moone Family Minstrels, The Ship’s Musicians, and Lightly Salted, among others. More recently, they’ve combined their talents with another young musician to form RKO and The Ookies.

Odle Middle School Choir

We are thrilled to have Odle Middle School Choir showcase their talents this year at the Bellevue Festival of the Nativity.

Odle’s choir director is Joanne Whang. This is her 16th year of teaching and 12th year in the Bellevue School District. She studied vocal music (Masters of Music from University of Southern California) and performed in an opera, Rome, Italy. She also studied piano, choral music and conducting. She also finished her 2nd Masters of Education from Seattle Pacific University. Mrs. Whang and her husband have two children, Allison (13) and Jonathan (10). Allison started her 8th grade at Odle this year and Jonathan is in 5rd grade at Somerset.

The Choir’s Primary goals are:

  • Develop the singing voice through sight-singing, vocal techniques (including breath) and use of diction, blend, articulation, phrasing, and tone quality
  • Appreciate various styles of music ranging from different cultures, periods and forms
  • Encourage a high quality of performance through goal-oriented rehearsals and practice

Bateman Family

The seven members of the Michael Bateman clan have been caroling a capella in 4-part harmony since the oldest children were in grade school. From their first song, “Carol of the Bells” to the most recent “Jesu Thou Son Most Sweet and Dear” each song they add to their repertoire represents the most hauntingly beautiful Christmas music they can find. This year the family is down to five, but they still manage to add a touch of cello, violin, and a capella to the mix.

Highline Flute Quartet

The Highline Flute Ensemble has been established for nearly 20 years. The members love to explore various genres of music such as classical, sacred, jazz, ragtime and contemporary, and have expanded their sound by playing the range of flutes in the flute family; bass flute, alto flute and piccolo. The group was one of a handful of quartets selected to perform at the 2018 National Flute Association convention in Orlando.
